Wondering what time the draper tree of life turns on?

The event schedule is as follows for the tree lighting. This year the tree lighting will happen on November 27, 2023 6:00-8:00 PM.

  • Ceremony at main stage 6:00 PM
  • Santa at the Day Barn 6:30 – 8:00 PM
  • Hot chocolate & cookies 6:30 – 8:00 PM
  • Pony rides 6:30 – 8:00 PM
  • Marshmallow roasting 6:30 – 8:00 PM

When to visit?

This Christmas season, make sure to check out the Tree of Life (Light) in Draper City. The tree lighting is usually held on the Monday after Thanksgiving, but to be sure, make sure to visit the Draper City website for the exact dates as it can vary slightly from year to year.

Usually lights are on 5:00 PM – 10:00 PM nightly, and mornings from 5:00 AM – 8:00 AM, through the first Sunday in January.

It’s definitely worth the trip to Draper -it’s even more fun to go to both the Tree of Life and the Hidden Valley Club Drive Lights. They’re located just a few minutes away from each other, so it’s easy to visit both in one evening. Bring your family along and make some festive memories!

How to get there?

It’s pretty easy to get to the tree. It is located in Draper City Park about 40 minutes drive from Salt Lake City.

To get to Draper City Park, take 12300 South (which turns into 12500 South) and head east to 1300 East. Turn south (right) and continue until you reach the park entrance.

You will know you are there when you see the huge glowing tree. The light from the tree is a beacon in the night and is a symbol of the beauty that awaits you when you enter the park.

Take a moment to admire the tree before you explore the rest of the park. An absolutely spectacular place you can’t miss. Enjoy!
